Top Gear is back for a new season on BBC America, yay! Taped the episode last night and watched it after I was done supervising the evening data loads. The boys were in fine form, and absolutely hilarious as they lamented the inadequacies of British police chases versus those found on American tv. Alas I found out too late that the BBC had just auctioned off a ride with The Stig as part of their annual charity fundraiser. The winning bid was far outside of my price range (not to mention the whole "must make own arrangements for transportation to test track in Surrey") but still, it would have fun to think about. I'll put that on my list of things to do if I win the lotto, right next to the Zeppelin tour of San Francisco bay.

Christmas shopping has involved numerous trips to the bookstores, where among other delights I discovered the pop-up version of Moby Dick. How cool is that?

Tonight's the final night of the ledger close for the month, so looking forward to resuming a normal(ish) schedule tomorrow. Christmas will be here before we know it, and then I'll be working over the year-end, which is the busiest time of the year for finance, oh joy. At least this year-end will be better than last year, when I had one night's training via IM messages before I was expected to pick up the new job and run with it. Now, at least, I know what I'm doing. Mostly.
