Home from Albacon
Oct. 12th, 2008 10:56 pmBack in 2000, when I was down in the dumps after my father had suffered a massive stroke,
jennifer_dunne came to me and said "We're going to a Sci-Fi con next weekend."
I protested that I hadn't been to a con since college, and in any case I didn't feel like socializing. She ignored my misgivings, dragged me along and much to my surprise I had a wonderful time. I'd forgotten how much I missed hanging out with fellow SF geeks. Since then cons are once more part of my life, and Albacon remains among my favorites, in large part because of all the friends I've made there over the years.
Trip report later, after I've had some sleep. And if you happen to run across photos of me attempting to devour
jpsorrow's brains, those are Photoshopped inventions. Honest!
