Yesterday brought a surprise-- a royalty check from Kensington Zebra for the German edition of Bewitching Kittens. Bewitching Kittens was a Halloween-themed Regency anthology published in 1998, and included my novella "Charlotte's Kitten" which, among other attributes, included allusions to both Monty Python and the British radio sketch on The Great Train Robbery.

The book sold very well in the US, and then Zebra went on to sell German language rights. Three editions were produced, including a separate Swiss edition. And, periodically, checks continue to arrive in the mail. It's not huge sums, but it's a round of drinks in Denver, and a testament to the power of a good cover.

And kittens. You've got to have kittens.
