My reality beats yours any day

jennifer_dunne and I went up to Ithaca on the semi-annual shoe shopping expedition. Since it's graduation weekend for Ithaca College, there was dutiful consideration given to finding a place for lunch that wouldn't be mobbed with students and parents. I suggested Catherine's Estate... then realized that it only existed within the pages of one of my stories. Oops.
This kind of thing never happened to me when I was writing medieval fantasies.
Instead we wound up at the Moosewood Restaurant, which was very good, and then proceeded to the locally famous shoe store on Eddy Street ("Since before you were born") where I managed to acquire a pair of summer shoes. I now own two pairs of shoes that can be worn with the latest orthotics--sneakers and my new not-quite-sandals. Should these shoes work out, I'll head back up in a couple of weeks and buy them in a second color. Three pairs of shoes ought to be enough to keep me going between now and frost season.
