It's a tad busy as I am going through training for the new job while still doing the old one. Tonight I finally had time to get ready for Wiscon, and had sat down at my computer to print off the travel confirmations, and other documents I'll need.
At which point I noticed that I'd screwed up the hotel reservation when I made it 6 months ago. The hotel was expecting me to arrive today. Oops. There's $100 down the drain....
Called the folks at the hotel, and had them update the reservation. I'm good through the weekend, which is the important part. But still ticked at myself. I don't make these kinds of mistakes, I double and triple check everything, and yet somehow this one totally slipped by me. Grrr. Argh. I'm already stressed enough about leaving town with everything going on, and this is just the icing on the cake.
ETA: Mystery solved. Originally there had been talk of a career-focused track of writing seminars to be held on Thursday before Wiscon, and as one of the potential organizers I had planned to arrive Wednesday night. Alas the workshop didn't happen this year, but it never occured to me to go back and change my hotel reservation. At least that explains why I made the reservation that way in the first place.
