Getting to know you
Apr. 25th, 2007 09:38 pmThe first sets of documentation for Operation Paperwork arrived in today's mail. It felt really strange to hold a copy of my parents' marriage certificate. It's not quite genealogical research--these were my parents, not distant ancestors, after all, but it still feels odd, as if I'd been poking around in my parents' room, and found something that wasn't meant for a child's sticky fingers.
I hadn't realized that they'd been married by my dad's older brother, but of course in hindsight it makes perfect sense that if there was a priest in the family, he'd be the one to perform the ceremony.
Not looking forward to the death certificates which are also on their way, but hey, it's all part of the process.
