Today I accomplished another item on the post-book checklist--I had a massage. When I'm stressed I carry the tension in my upper back and neck, and there's nothing like an office day job and frantic writing on nights & weekends to compound the problem. So I copied
kristine_smith's example and made an appointment for a massage.
The therapist was a tad incredulous as she reached the problem areas. "How do you turn your head?" she asked. "You shouldn't be able to drive."
After some hard work she discovered actual muscles among the rocks and I feel a million percent better. Though I did crack up at one point in the process, as she was manipulating my head in a way that reminded me of last night's episode of Criminal Minds and how the unsub had snapped his victim's necks.
Mmm. Relaxation. It's worth a try.
