Feb. 3rd, 2007 09:31 amLast night I pulled out the trusty shovel and cleared off the two or so inches that had accumulated on the driveway and sidewalks. This was the first time all winter I've had to shovel. Still haven't seen a snow plow on my street yet--and it's already February. The mind boggles.
We're in our second streak of brutally cold weather, but without significant snow fall. If we have a few inches more I could get on XC skiing, but so far it looks like another winter where there won't be enough snow around here.
The first full winter I was in this house, it snowed so much that the ground was covered from December to Easter. I remember it vividly, as the constant shoveling made me curse the decision to become a homeowner. I don't miss those days, but would like a bit more of a happy medium.
And on a completely unrelated topic, after a week I'm still earwormed with Battlefield Band's Dear Green Place. Which would have made sense if it was one of the songs they'd performed last week when I saw them. It wasn't.
Nor is it one of the songs on the Best of BB CD that I purchased at the show.
It is, however, one of the songs from their album On the Rise. Which I own in both vinyl and cassette format. I'm thinking it's time to buy the CD and put it back in rotation.
