Watching the ink dry
Oct. 23rd, 2005 09:15 pmBack from a quick trip to Connecticut, where I had a great time at my friend Stacey's wedding. Nick, the groom, broke his leg hiking in September, so he was in a wheelchair for the event, but despite this inconvenience they looked wonderful together and it was a great party.
Had fun talking writing with Lori, Tara and Tony (waves "Hi!"), and I think they enjoyed hanging out with a kindred spirit.
I took a laptop thinking I would be able to work on the revisions Saturday morning, but closing down the hotel bar on Friday night interfered with that plan. So instead I left early this morning, got back here at lunch time, and spent this afternoon revising.
I think I may be done. I printed the manuscript off and now need to do a complete read from start to finish to make sure it all makes sense. But I have a very good feeling about it. And even though I've already read the ending dozens of times at this point, it still packs a powerful punch, which I think is a very good sign indeed.
Now off to get ready for an early work day tomorrow. And I hear there's this World Fantasy thing coming up I ought to be planning for....
