Writing: Revisions on THE FIRST BETRAYAL continue apace. I've had one truly brilliant idea, several good ideas, and there are a couple of things where I'm still batting around different ways to accomplish what I need. Yesterday I had lunch with
jennifer_dunne so she could help me brainstorm the precise limits of Lucius's powers. Turns out the stuff was in the manuscript all along, but I needed her questions to crisp up the mechanics of what was happening and how the transference took place.
There's one scene that I know I need to write, but not quite certain where in the text it will be inserted. Too early in the book and it will give too much away. Too late and it will be restating the obvious. I've got an idea of where I think it should go, but will have to make final decision after all the other revisions are finished and I'm doing a front to back read through.
Miscellaneous: Fall has arrived on schedule, as the weather has gone from warm summer to cool, crisp days with no transition in between. The summer here was the hottest summer on record. Not just a few record setting days, but hottest June through August period. Wouldn't be surprised if this is also a record breaking September. But now the weather has changed, the leaves are turning, and frost can't be far behind. It's time to drag out the long-sleeve shirts and see about getting the furnace cleaned.
