Starting writing
THE SEA CHANGE today, the sequel to THE FIRST BETRAYAL. Made a decent if not spectacular start. The important thing in starting a novel is to recognize that yes, the first paragraph sucks. It will always suck. But you need to keep moving, to start getting words on paper. As the story idea unfolds, you'll know what to do when it comes time to fix that first paragraph.
In other news, the heatwave continues. It's hard for me to write when it is this hot-- this afternoon sweat was literally dripping off me as I sat at the computer. If I ever do get an airconditioner it's going in the writing room.
