Happy Anniversary to me
Jun. 4th, 2005 10:33 pmJune is a good month for my writing career. Four years ago today, I got the call from
arcaedia saying that we had an offer on my first fantasy novel. And later this month I'll celebrate the ninth anniversary of my first fiction sale.
Writing: revisions, fun, fun.
Reading: Well not reading per se, but I did buy
mizkit's Urban Shaman to add to my to-be-read stack. It will be a while before I can get to it, but I know how important it is to buy books in their first weeks of release. Was pleased to see that not only had Waldenbooks remembered to shelve it in the SF section, they also had four copies in. Cool cover and they did a nice job with the all important backcover blurb.
In other random musings, my best friend went to BEA and all I got was cat fur. Updated to add that she brought me back books, including an autographed book on sea dragons. Adding new meaning to the term cat sitting, as part of my job consists of sitting still so the cat can have quality time perched on my lap being petted. Fortunately both cat and I agreed that the first Matrix movie was an acceptable viewing choice for this activity. In general she prefers the golf channel, will tolerate Headline News, and finds baseball makes the human too excitable.
