Notes from a Galley Slave, Part 2

I'm a tad obsessive when it comes to packaging, and getting the galleys ready to be shipped to New York was no exception. Every seam and dimension of the shipping box is taped, sometimes double-taped, with super-strong clear plastic shipping tape.

Which, given my general level of coordination, meant I was leaving fingerprints all over the tape, carefully preserving them in the sticky film.

When I realized this, my first thought wasn't "This looks messy" but rather "I'm leaving trace evidence all over this package." I think that means I watch too much CSI.

Is there such a thing as too much CSI? Hmm....

I think CSI:NY is where I draw the line, myself.

I do that all the time, both the uncoordinated thing and the wondering-about-the-evidence thing.

It's even worse when I'm wrapping gifts....

I don't even *watch* CSI, and I think things like that all the time. "Oh," I think, "hairs from my brush in the hotel bathroom; someone could use that to trace me." Don't even get me started on fingernail clippings. :)

You know, our ancestors knew to burn hair and fingernail clippings, lest witches use them for evil.

Replace witches with crime labs...

I think that means I watch too much CSI.

Or that you, like the rest of us, lived through the Kenneth Starr days.

(And what does "the" mean, anyway?)

I even remember Watergate. Of course I was a mere child at the time, but still....
