My new diploma

I'm now a graduate of the Binghamton Citizens' Police Academy, complete with a shiny diploma signed by the Mayor and the Police Chief.

Alas we received key chains and coffee mugs rather than badges at the graduation ceremony, but all things considered it's probably for the best.

In all seriousness, the class was excellent, and the guest instructors we had each week representing the various units within the police department were all outstanding. I've gained a new appreciation for just how demanding the job is, as well as insights into "This is how it is on TV/movies/books versus this is what we really do."

And at the end the vice unit sent in a request for female graduates to volunteer to help with drug stings, so if I need a new hobby for 2011 I've got one all lined up.

Two thoughts just popped into my head: your research has taken you to new places, and I pity the fool that tries to run from you.

that is so awesome on so many levels. Especially the last sentence. What a hobby!
