This is also useful for roleplayers, both players and GMs, in coming up with names.

I've sometimes borrowed the first or last name of a character from a book I've read, and appended a new one to it. (I've not touched Devlin, but I have borrowed names from Bujold and Erikson, to name two authors, and remixed them: Ingrey Wererathe, Gareth Beddict, Cazaril Sawall.)
